Crisis and Emergencies
If you are in immediate danger, believe you may harm yourself or someone else, or are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress, or thoughts of suicide, call or text 988. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also use the online chat option.
Mississippi's Mobile Crisis Response Teams provide community-based crisis services for people experiencing a mental health, substance-use, or other behavioral health crisis. Teams are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can respond to the location where a person is experiencing a crisis.
Worried About Someone Else?
If you are concerned about a family member, friend, or someone else who may be experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call or text 988 or contact Mississippi Crisis Services for guidance and support. You do not have to be the person experiencing the crisis to reach out for help.
